Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO Canada) is the Canadian government lead for the implementation of the Galway Statement through the Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance. DFO Canada is the Federal lead for managing Canada's fisheries, its oceans and freshwater resources, and safeguarding its waters. It supports economic growth in the marine and fisheries sectors, innovation through research in areas such as aquaculture and biotechnology, and a healthy and sustainable aquatic ecosystem for Canadians through habitat protection and sound science.

ERA-Can+ promotes cooperation between the European Union and Canada in science, technology and innovation with a broad range of activities. These activities include publishing guides to support applicants on Horizon 2020 and Canadian programmes, preparing reports on Canada-EU STI policies and programmes and monitoring of joint projects.
