This work package supports the AORA Ecosystem Approach to Ocean Health & Stressors Working Group. The Work Package is led by Mark Dickey-Collas , ICES. The International Council for the Exploration of the Seas (ICES) coordinates and promotes marine research in the North Atlantic, including adjacent seas such as the Baltic Sea and North Sea.
Mark is the Ecosystem Approach Coordinator with the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea and also Associate Professor at Danish Technical University, National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua). Mark has over 20 years’ experience working at the interface of marine science and policy. Mark has extensive experience working with policy developers and managing socially relevant applied science. At ICES, Mark explores alternative ways to utilise the vast amount of available knowledge for the sustainable and successful management of our seas and oceans. At ICES he is responsible for the application of new scientific insight into the advisory and management process.
Within the AORA-CSA, Mark provides scientific, technical and logistical support to the AORA Working Group on Ecosystem Approach to Ocean Health & Stressors.
The first workshop on the Ecosystem Approach to Ocean Health and Stressors was held from 20-22 January 2016 in the EEA Headquarters, Copenhagen, Denmark.
